Pastoral Vacancy

Thank you for viewing this page – we want to start by giving you a warm welcome. We hope that you will find all the information that you might need if you are thinking of applying for the Full Time Pastoral Position on this page – or throughout our website.

Our basic job description as listed on the EFCC website is as follows:-

Rochford Congregational Church

Pastor

Rochford Congregational Church are looking to appoint a pastor to succeed Rev. David Saunders, following his fifty-four years of gospel ministry. We are looking to call God’s servant, someone with pastoral leadership abilities with a 21st century outlook, a zeal for evangelistic outreach to the lost in the local community, and who can lead the church forward in spiritual and numerical growth.

The church is in the heart of Rochford, an attractive market town in Essex that is close to the countryside, and less than an hour away from London by train. The building the church meets in is in good order and has lots of potential. We have regular coffee mornings and weekly prayer and bible study meetings, but we are looking to increase our activities during the week. The church has declined in recent years, and we currently have a congregation of around 35.

We can offer a four-bedroom manse with garage and spacious garden on the Ashingdon Road, about 10 minutes’ walk from the church and town centre. We can offer a realistic stipend. Further information about the church can be found at rochfordcong.org.uk If you are interested in applying, please contact us by emailing Miss Caroline Starling – webmaster@rochfordcong.org.uk
